Expanding audiences through  usable UI.

Aimed to boost foot traffic by enhancing visual design and improving user flow to keep users committed to completing orders.

Background

Golden Dragon is a cherished family-owned restaurant located in my hometown. Aimed to modernize the website with a cleaner, more intuitive interface to achieve more foot traffic from the website and help Golden Dragon reach a wider audience.

Project Scope

Initial research examined how to market Golden Dragon’s brand and identified successful food ordering flows to replicate.

Website Analysis

Assessed website features and user flows, identified drop-off points, and planned to reorganize the information architecture for clearer categorization.

Wireframing

Developed Figma lo-fi wireframes for menu selection and ordering flow, reducing scrolling by adding filters and a search tool.

User Testing

Conducted 8 user interviews to test the lo-fi prototype and identify pain points. Users liked the menu filters but wanted more confirmation cues when placing orders.

Redesign & Prototyping

Incorporated user feedback into the hi-fi prototype by adding an order tracking feature and a post-order review section.

User Research 

Tested the hi-fi prototype with 5 users. Users found the homepage more engaging and the ordering flow simpler but wanted more entry points to ordering from the homepage.

Continued Design 

Used feedback to develop more usable features, making the site’s overall user flow clearer and easier to navigate.
